Models of Memorability: Learning, Experiments, and Applications

چکیده
We describe the construction and use of predictive models that provide inferences about the likelihood that users will consider particular events to be memorable landmarks in time. We discuss experiments and present integration of the models of event memorability into prototype file browsing tools. Finally, we discuss ongoing research and future directions for using predictive models of human memory in computing. Author

Memorability of Image Regions
While long term human visual memory can store a remarkable amount of visual information, it tends to degrade over time. Recent works have shown that image memorability is an intrinsic property of an image that can be reliably estimated using state-of-the-art image features and machine learning algorithms. However, the class of features and image information that is forgotten has not been explor...
متن کاملA NOTE TO INTERPRETABLE FUZZY MODELS AND THEIR LEARNING
In this paper we turn the attention to a well developed theory of fuzzy/lin-guis-tic models that are interpretable and, moreover, can be learned from the data.We present four different situations demonstrating both interpretability as well as learning abilities of these models.
متن کاملThe cue-familiarity heuristic in metacognition.
Four experiments contrasted the cue-familiarity hypothesis of feeling-of-knowing judgments (FKJs) and tip-of-the-tongue feelings (TOTs) to the target-retrievability hypothesis. Familiarity of the cues was contrasted to memorability of the targets in a paired-associate design (e.g., A-B A-B, A-B A-B', A-B A-D, A-B C-D), in which the number of repetitions of the cue A terms was dissociated from t...
متن کاملPredicting memorability of images using attention-driven spatial pooling and image semantics
In daily life, humans demonstrate an amazing ability to remember images they see on magazines, commercials, TV, web pages, etc. but automatic prediction of intrinsic memorability of images using computer vision and machine learning techniques has only been investigated very recently. Our goal in this article is to explore the role of visual attention and image semantics in understanding image m...
متن کاملThe Resiliency of Memorability: A Predictor of Memory Separate from Attention and Priming
When we encounter a new person or place, we may easily encode it into our memories, or we may quickly forget it. Recent work finds that this likelihood of encoding a given entity – memorability – is highly consistent across viewers and intrinsic to an image; people tend to remember and forget the same images. However, several forces influence our memories beyond the memorability of the stimulus...
